Statement
I love everything about the creative process and struggle
to keep myself focused on just a few avenues of expression,
colored pencil and fiber art.
My subject matter tends to be intimate "landscapes"
of organic shapes like rocks, seashells, fruits and vegetables.
These objects are so often overlooked in our busy lives. I
like to give them a "stage" where their beauty can
be appreciated.

Texture
appeals to me and I am particularly drawn to the usage of line
to create texture, whether it is with thread in my thread paintings,
or "circulism" in my colored pencil pieces.
I am so blessed at this point in my life to be able to devote
my time to my artwork, and so grateful for the wonderful support
of my husband, family and dear friends.

Bio
My
art training comes from a few university classes, but in the 70's
it was all about contemporary art, and I love realism. Not a good
match. As my children grew I took drawing and painting classes
wherever I could find them. I retired from a corporate job in
the early 90's and began studying in earnest. I have been fortunate
to study with instructors who nurtured me and helped me to grow,
personally and artistically.
